The Rigo System Piano is the sampled piano par excellence with a definition of the sound without equals. It is provided with keys in wood and features a patented mechanism for the release and the inertia of the hammers: this makes it an absolutely versatile virtual instrument, personalised as to the choice of the timbre and the weighting of the keyboard. Unique in its kind, it has been conceived so as to satisfy the needs of those expecting the maximum from digital technology and handcraft tradition for an instrument whose performances are as good as those of an acoustic instrument.
The Rigo System Piano is named after its creator and inventor Claudio Righetti, a pianist and composer who has devoted more than ten years of his life to deepening and experimenting mechanisms and acoustics. After having designed various prototypes, he achieved the final realisation of his instrument as a system combining the refined mechanism of wooden keys with the most sophisticated computer science research in the field of music acoustics.
The extraordinary truthfulness of this instrument, witnessed by internationally renowned artists, conservatory teachers and young students, would not have been possible without the interaction between the sound and an ultra-silent mechanism, with wooden keys, provided with touch and inertial release identical to those of a grand piano. The majority of the mechanisms of the currently available digital pianos indeed provide the interpreter with a series of 88 “switches” that control this or that sound with certain dynamics, but they don’t offer a real physical answer that combines these events in a synergic way so as to give remarkable artistic and emotional results.
